2011 Masters Prize Money

Does winning The Masters have significant perks besides the green jacket? You bet it does, and this years purse increased by a significant $500,000.00 for a total purse of $8 million. And an interesting side note in the newspaper “professionals who missed the cut also receive a monetary prize”…probably more than enough for cab fare to Augusta Regional Airport!

Here’s the list of this years prize money:

1. Charles Schwartzel    $1,440,000

T2. Jason Day, Adam Scott $704,000

T4. Woods, Ogilvy, Donald $330,667

7. Cabrera  $268,000

T8. Van Pelt, Choi  $240,000

10. R. Palmer $216,000

and all the way down in 49th place is Camilo Villegas who pockets $21,920

All in all, not bad for a weeks worth of work…just a wee bit more than I made during Masters week!

It is good to see that playing in the world’s biggest major rewards these guys so well, as it should. Thank you Augusta National for another spectacular week, you are as beautiful as the day I first met you.
